Just a few days after Governor Radda's interview on the progress made in the fight against banditry in Katsina State, a devastating attack took place in Wurma village, located in the Kurfi Local Government area.

During this attack, the newly upgraded primary health care hospital was completely burnt down, along with the Mobile police outpost and their patrol vehicle. Additionally, the Community Watch Corp patrol vehicle was also set ablaze. More than 10 houses were destroyed, along with food stores that were burnt to the ground. To make matters worse, over a dozen women and children were abducted by the bandits.

Witnesses say that the bandits spent a horrifying two hours wreaking havoc before finally leaving the village.

the attack began around 7pm and lasted until 9pm. During this time, the mobile police men who were stationed in the area fled for their own safety, leaving the community even more vulnerable to the bandits. As of now, numerous women remain missing, adding to the distress and uncertainty faced by the community.
